Visions for the Textile Industry
ISPO is your gateway for future trends. In cooperation with trend expert Louisa Smith ISPO has studied various global trends with influence on the textile industry and its products. In combination with the defined trend colors and five more detailed textile trends, these megatrends provide a good vision where the future of textiles will take us.
ISPO is very pleased to have the opportunity to share these visions for Spring/Summer 2024 with the textile industry and to use these trends as a basic guideline for ISPO Textrends Award Summer 2022.
The megatrends show visions that are not specific to one particular area, but will influence the entire textile chain right down to the consumer. The color cards and the textile trends result from a range of influences, from consumer behavior to the global economy. Film, music, social media, art and many other activities are reflected in these trends. They form a basic guideline how new developments and innovations of ingredient products will be shown, presented and highlighted at ISPO Textrends Award Summer 2022.
Vision for Spring/ Summer 2024
Now or Never
The industry takes on a surge in sustainability, an accelerated approach and a positive push in encouraging the evolution of current developments. It isn’t about towing the line, it is about doing more, as the next generation of existing practices and new innovations come into play.
As we consider how far we have come in the last ten years, sustainable processes have become integral throughout. However, is it enough? We can’t afford to rest on our laurels, as a rapid response is required to maintain our commitment to climate change and a reduction in waste and resources.
This seismic shift can't come at the expense of creativity and performance. We have to think in a multi dimensional manner as to how we can become cleaner and more careful throughout the entire supply chain, without losing the integrity and characteristics of materials. From KM-zero through to innovative design, we still have an industry to consider, reaching across the globe, from ingredient suppliers to end consumers. The upside to the performance sector is that it is geared towards the sports and outdoors sector, contributing to consumers' health and well being at all levels, that in turn drives their responsible outlook, passed on to their brands.
The linearity of the textile and apparel chain no longer applies, today’s response from D2C also includes C2B, as consumers push downstream in their demands as an infinity loop defines the new supply chain.
Spring/Summer 2024 encourages an alive ’n’ kicking mood as colors, creativity and performance combine. The great outdoors beckons, keeping alive a strong spiritual mood through mindfulness and mental and physical wellbeing.
Colors Spring/Summer 2024
Colors
Sustainability also spreads to the use of color palettes this season, as the development of Core palettes guarantees the color standards already signed off. An efficient approach, not just in cost but time saving too and perfect for any dead stock that brands may have that can be incorporated with the new color tones.
ISPO Textrends’ Core palette takes on a fresh and bold approach, with neutral basics and primary tones, able to deliver a playful, professional and casual approach depending on the final application, including how we implement the seasonal color palettes in creating new directions.
he satellite palettes are encouraged to work with accents or full tones. The interaction of these tones encourages brand design teams and developers to move away from the depersonalized looks that have been created by overwhelming sameness.
Be bold. Be brave. Recognize your brand’ s signature in creating customized and unique classics.
Core
Our seasonal go-to, updated with a sassy green that evokes the summer smell of cut grass. There is an easy go, primary tone feel. Sunshine yellow, postbox red and sky blue sit amongst an array of soft neutral hues and ubiquitous dark tones.
Fleeting An ephemeral and luminiere approach to vapory huses. They can be worked bold or by hints, depending on the substrate, but they
take on a surface movement through the pigmentation. Translucent and ethereal.
Soul Surf
A beach-inspired palette that embraces the feel of the sea-breeze, there respect we need to show to it. With the emphasis on ocean welfare, there is a gentle mood emerging, an aged appeal with tinted whites also appealing. A perfect palette to connect with the natural tones in the Core palette.
Natural Logic
With the intricacies of nature continuing to inspire, we look to the origins of natural dyes in creating interesting hues. Not solely geared to towards natural dye ingredients, this palette also offers a cleansing development of dope dyed and eco-friendly synthetic dyes.
Tantalize
The shape shifter satellite palette, where colors take on sunshine iridescent and move and flicker to the emotion of the wearer. Appealing for outer layers and trims, platinum can also be brought in to complement these sharp and sassy
